Professional paystub template options

Choose a layout that presents payroll information clearly. A template is a formatting aid—not a substitute for accurate source records or state-specific legal review.

Pennsylvania pay stub questions, answered

Do pay-period dates belong on the stub?

Yes. Pennsylvania Labor & Industry identifies the beginning and ending dates of the pay period as required information. Keep these dates separate from the date the payment was issued.

Does Local Services Tax apply to every worker?

Do not assume it does. Local Services Tax depends on the relevant municipality or school district and applicable exemptions. Use Pennsylvania DCED’s guidance to check the actual work location and withholding situation.

How can I distinguish taxes from other deductions?

Use separate, descriptive entries that match the payroll record. An insurance premium, authorized repayment and tax withholding are different items. Preserve the underlying authorization or calculation rather than grouping everything into an unexplained amount.

Pennsylvania pay stub example

Fictional two-period comparison: at $26 per hour, 35 regular hours produces $910 gross and 37 regular hours produces $962 gross. The $52 difference comes from two additional hours. Compare deductions separately before explaining a change in take-home pay. This example assumes no overtime and is not a tax calculation.

What the generator handles

PayStubExpress offers 18 layouts and editable earnings and deduction fields. Its current interface labels state and local withholding as manual amounts. Enter amounts checked against your payroll records; do not assume selecting a state completes its tax calculations.
